funerals and funerals - Tuesday, November 21, 2006 1:05 pm
It was very difficult to go to another funeral this weekend.  Teddy turned 19 just a few months ago.  I thought my life was over when my daughter was born when I was 20.  I guess it's things like this that make me realize that my life has really just begun.  Not enough time left in the day for everything that you want to do, or for all of the people you want to see.  This weekend was long.  After the funeral I headed straight to Arundel Mills Mall.  That place is like a zoo.  I mean seriously, I can't understand why people go there, it's obnoxious.  We went to "Medieval Times" for dinner.  They have you all sitting stadium style, and it's loud as crap so you can't even really talk to the person next to you.  Not to mention they give you 0 elbow room, so it's hard to eat.  Their vegetarian meal had no protein.  It was steamed veggies, with nothing on them.  It was a rather bland vegetarian meal.  The show was okay, but I think I would've thought it was a lot cooler if was, oh I dunno, 11 years old.   Sunday was my neice Eva's 1st birthday.  Too much cake!  The Ravens stomped some serious Atlanta ass this weekend, 10-24.  Today is my 3rd to last day at SSA.  I can't wait to GTFO.

So people have their panties all up in a bunch about Michael Richards and his "racist tirade"   He wasn't really being particularly racist I don't think.  Does the use of the n-bomb make someone racist?  What about the words gook, spic, kyke, or cracker?  I bet if it were a white person saying it, it would be labeled as racist.  Anyone else?  Doubtful.  I saw the video, and granted it seems pretty bad, but what about what was happening before what has been posted all over youtube and the internet?  What if these people were being complete assholes?   What are you supposed to do about things like that?

pretty busy week - Monday, November 13, 2006 4:45 pm
this picture is awesomeThis week at work I got my offer letter from sourcefire. I am very eager to start working there.  I'm not sure what it will be like, and I hope it doesn't suck.  I should at least get my own cube.  I went to a cytoplastik meeting this friday, where I said I had to do two things to push forward agendas discussed there.  I might do it... uhm next week or something.  On the way there and the way back I was pulled over for an outed tag light.  Cops must have been extra bored on Friday night.  Saturday morning, I got my car worked on, and the I went to my Masko's funeral.  I feel weird going to a funeral where the first time I actually see a person is when they are dead.  I don't like that.  She was buddhist, but they got a minister that was, I dunno, baptist?  It just didn't feel right.  After the service, they played "Buree in E minor" over some speakers.  It seemed inappropriate to me.  It's a piece that I know better than any other classical guitar piece, so it just seemed weird.  Afterwards, I went to my parents' house for the family reunion of my dad's side of the fam.  It was fun, although I managed to sustain an injury from a certain ice cube throwing little girl(not Isis).   Oh yea, I also tried out the gray kangaroo, which is a personal liquor filter.  It's pretty sweet.  Dangerous even.  I made 2 drinks with filtered vodka and I was practically on the floor.  I can't even taste the crappy vodka in my drink anymore.

BWAHAHWHWHAHAHAAAA!!!

Sorry, I practically peed my pants with laughter after reading this article full of retardedness.  All I know is the Dept. of Health and Human Services is being lead around and speaking like somebody's hand puppet.   There is no way anyone with half a brain working for this department would make this kind of ridiculous suggestion.    Let's tell people in their 20's not to have sex... mmmkay?  Yea it's bad enough with the high school agenda of all abstience programs, but Jesus this is like telling crickets not to jump or chirp.  But that is how government goes.  One guy gets elected, who says "my friend is now an important guy too."   Then the first guy whispers his fundamentalist agenda into the ear of the second guy, who says, "Hey everbody! Here's something stupid! Everybody do it!"  And like brain eating zombies, people bend over and take it without a question.  Yay government.

too much blah not enough ahh - Tuesday, October 31, 2006 10:00 am
This weekend I went to an awesome party at Tim and Annette's house.  It was fun hanging out with Kat.  Next time I will bring the twister board.  Work has been stressful this week.  I need to focus on making music more.  I have been working with renoise a lot.  The latest BETA version (registered users only!) has the ability to record directly to samples.  The live implementation of recording is still a little rough I'd say, but I haven't been using it for live playing anyway and I probably never will again.  Live electronic music seems like the biggest oxymoron to me.  It's like mutual masturbation.  What's the point? I can do that by myself.   Kirk and Mark left 98 rock yesterday.  No goodbye or anything.  From the WIYY wikipedia entry:

Longtime Baltimore morning radio personalities Kirk McEwen and Mark Ondayko left the company after advertising that they would be competing in a Maryland Championship Wrestling event but were warned not to do so by management. They will be starting on WHFS 105.7 FM on February 1, 2007, taking over for the Sports Junkies.

It's kind of surreal.  Kirk, Mark, and Lopez were the morning show for 9 years prior to Lopez's death last year.  Now they are all gone.  I think it's also kind of messed up that they would abandon their fans like that.  105.7 is not even really WHFS.  It's another radio statio that just lets HFS do their thing after 99.1 got taken over by fucking immigrants.  Yea I said it, fucking immigrants.  Mexicans?  Fuck that.  Anyway, </rant> comments

good news, bad news - Sunday, October 22, 2006 12:32 pm
The good news is, I moved the server to a new hard drive and it works!
The bad news is, it seems to have mucked up dates on a bunch of folders which really impacts how this and cytoplastik.com work.... blech.
I will be working to correct any issues as they arise.

So since I wrote that paragraph a few hours ago, the first partition on the drive seems to have completely crapped it's pants.  I had to rebuild it using the old drive and knoppix. :(    But I did manage to fix the date error problems with the files on the webserver.  It's funny how not using "tar to tar" copying can seriously screw all of the dates on your filesystem.
